I just received news of a death in the family. It was no one that I personally knew, but he will be missed by those who did.

With that in mind, I will present a piece of Tao wisdom that seems to fit, that I received myself courtesy of another cousin:


Knowing others is intelligence;
Knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength;
Mastering yourself is true power.

If you realize that you have enough,
You are truly rich.
If you stay in the center
And embrace death with your whole heart,
You will endure forever.
