Mother Nature's House-cleaning?

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Bubbles. I had an idea for an image a couple of days ago- which didn't exactly turn out as planned (So what's new?). But I did like the ethereal-floating appearance, especially given how the circles seemed to be just barely tethered. Needless to say, I didn't fuss. I'll just have to try again.

For a change, I will talk about the weather.

This morning I went to look at my forecast- something I've been doing a lot since Hurricane Earl started stirring. I still don't think Hurricane Earl is an especially dangerous storm; In fact, he may be a lucky one. I did find that we were under a code orange air quality alert. That means that the ozone levels have gotten high enough near the ground that the ill and elderly, and those with heart or respiratory conditions, need to be careful about exerting themselves overmuch. While I don't fall in any of those categories, I am a bit flabby. Fortunately I did the majority of my heavy work yesterday! Perhaps the winds from Earl will take care of the air problem.

The Race Is On

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Healing Lights. I made it for a friend who was really down in the dumps at the time- but I think she would like to see her picture shared too. As you can see, I used a number of overlays, to pretty good effect if I do say so myself!

Boy do I have my work cut out for me! I have a lot of school work to get finished and turned in, before Friday whatever the syllabuses say. That's because that's when Hurricane Earl is projected to hit where I live. I don't think Earl is as dangerous a storm as Katrina and Rita were, but I don't want to find out the hard way that I don't have internet access when I need it either.

Wish me luck, Gentle Readers!

Doing it the hard way!

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Popsicle Drop. I was experimenting a bit with various flood fills and bezier lines, and came up with this. For anyone who has ever enjoyed a melting popsicle on a hot summer day, the colors should recall a few memories!

I spent much of last night wrestling with the problem of X and Y intercepts with graphing, then finally gave it up. This morning, my subconscious knocked me upside the noggin and pointed out that I had been doing it the hard way! I feel silly now, but lesson learned! Fortunately, I can go back and redo the problem, since I haven't turned it in yet.

I haven't cracked open my Com text yet. I'm not terribly concerned: Contrary to my expectations, the course has been relatively easy- Other than me having to learn how to use a couple of unfamiliar programs. I'm just as glad I'm learning now, instead of waiting until I have a business to keep track of at the same time.

A Couple of Surprises

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

For the sake of convenience, today's image is titled Hot Liquid Light. I did a lot of flame-based work this past week while trying to juxtapose purple against red and gold. As you've noticed by now, the purple seldom really looks like purple. However, I think I know why too. I would like to find a combination that will let the purple show without hiding the fiery colors behind it.

Last night, I checked my algebra syllabus for next week's reading, since that seems to be where the heavy stuff is. I was quite surprised to find that there was nothing from my textbook for algebra next week. However, there is stuff for the week after, and I will have to check the college site for any other links or lectures I need to take care of.

Upon reading my syllabus and term-paper instructions for my business communications class, I discovered why I hadn't been given instructions on the organizer part of the class; While according to the instructions, I should try to build my organizer this week, according to the syllabus it's not really due until next- and that is along with a bunch of other stuff. At least I think I've seen enough to make a start today and tomorrow; The syllabus mentioned a special chart and program that's supposed to help. So now I'll have to grapple with that! Well indeed that I looked ahead!

Another Week Gone...

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Flame Through Circle 2. As you might guess, it's pretty much a second version of yesterday's image. I've got an idea for yet another variation- But I will attempt that later.

It took some doing, but I finally got that assignment turned in. I still can't get over how the Wikipedia article about New Zealand was so utterly unbalanced. Really, all people make history, not just one group or another. Some people just yell more about it. I have a feeling that's exactly what happened here.

Another week has passed, so now I need to start on next week's stuff as well as see what I can do about the end-of-term. I did spend that sliver of time between being awake and being asleep thinking about a couple of things that were giving me difficulty with one of my courses. Sometimes I can understand problems more clearly when I am not distracted by conscious worries. Indeed, sometimes that's the ONLY way I can understand things! Fortunately, I'm a big believer in the unconscious mind and the almighty yellow pad!

Wish me luck, Gentle Readers!

A Disappointment

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Flame Through Circle. A couple of days ago, I read an item that talked about various cultures' views of different colors and what they mean. Part of this item mentioned that in Korea, black was considered a celebrating color and red was lucky. No doubt, black can be quite striking. A few months ago when I was just starting to get acquainted with my graphics program, I used black backgrounds a lot. So I went back to that to see what I could do. You now see one of the results.

Last night, I attempted to do a little research on New Zealand to finish an assignment. I say attempted for a very good reason; Most of the articles at the recommended source were purely about statistics, which I talked about in yesterday's post. When I finally decided to see what was on Wikipedia about it, I was mightily disappointed; THAT article was almost purely Euro-centric, with at best only a passing mention of the Maori- who are very much a part of the culture and country. Let this be a warning; While Wikipedia is convenient at times, it is not the final word. I did find what I really wanted over at a site called Kwintessentials. I think if I wish for a quick reference in the future, I will make sure to check there first.

Communications

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is Light Through The Sky. As usual, it didn't quite turn out as planned; The pink area was supposed to be yellow. However, I found it soothing, so I saved it.

I spent much of last night trying to perform some research on business communications in other countries. I found tons of fascinating articles for my first choice, which was Canada. However, while I saw a lot of business news and a lot of things about the technologies that are available, it wasn't until I got to the last item that I found what I really wanted. That was how to interact with the people behind the technologies. A business can have all the digital dashboards, PDAs, and databases it wants. But without the human element, those gadgets are worthless.

I can't say I'm terribly surprised; People are so accustomed to interacting with each other that they aren't likely to think that visitors from outside their especial area might have problems or be confused by what they see. Even I have been guilty of such lack of thought at times- though I am working on it!

I have two more countries to find out about some time today. Wish me luck, Gentle Readers!

Class Work and Distractions

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Blue Dawn. As usual, it isn't quite what I was looking for: I had expected something more like stained glass for the blue part. However, I think I slipped while setting up that especial layer. I'll try this again later, but in the meanwhile this is quite enjoyable.

It took some doing, but I did manage to finish an essay I had to write for my communications class. This was between taking care of one of the writers on a group I moderate who was feeling positively chatty! Normally, chatty isn't a problem. I love it, in fact! However, this especial writer needs some extra help concerning what can and can't be posted. Toward the end, I would not have been surprised to find my blood pressure rising.

So far, I've got a good grip of my class work this week. I even think that once I get past this week in my communications class, I'll be able to make a big start in my end-of-term project, though I've already done as much as I can with it. However, a good power-point presentation is very much labor-intensive in its creation. Guess what the project entails!

Wish me luck, Gentle Readers!

The Storm That Wasn't...

Good Afternoon, Gentle Readers!

I finished my Business Communications reading last night. It said a lot about how it is possible for people of one culture to completely misunderstand those of another. For instance, behaviors that among one culture would be considered respectfully attentive might be considered rude and arrogant in another. It also had a lot to say about how these same different cultures place different emphasis on time, and on the written and spoken word. This can make business negotiations rather tricky. Fortunately, the business world is learning how to adapt. Other than that, this chapter had little to say that I had not seen in a previous course. I was careful to take notes anyway; It's far too easy to fall into the trap of believing one knows everything as it is.

The storm that I expected last night didn't materialize- Fortunately, according to reports from where it went instead! It pretty much just swished north while skipping over where I live altogether, other than a little wind. That was some good luck indeed! But I feel for anyone who got my share.

Random Thoughts

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Dawnlit. I made it yesterday for a friend who needed a little encouragement and inspiration. Usually anything with a lot of bright colors will do the trick, especially when used right.

I got done reading my algebra texts and taking my notes for next week; I just need to get the turn-in assignment done. But it would be a good idea for me to work a few more practice problems. I think I have a handle on the stuff that was bothering me last week, so now I have to get this week out of the way.

I haven't even cracked the text for my business communication for this week yet. Fortunately, that's not an issue; I'll have the rest of the day for that.

I got a pleasant surprise when I logged in to my blog this morning. I usually don't get visitors this early. Thank you for making my day!

Never a dull moment!

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Netted Inspiration. It's not really properly netted as such- But one of the colors, at least, that you see isn't supposed to be there at all; It's the result of a feature (or is that bug?) that I couldn't get around without messing up something that I wanted to keep. The result is enjoyable, though, so now I present it for your perusal.

I got that last assignment done for Algebra last night- though I don't think it was done exactly as the professor wanted it done. However, it is out of my hair, so I spent time last night going over some material that was giving me difficulty. That should be a huge help!

I also have some plans for today. As some of you know, I play a couple of MUDs. Late last night- Or should I say early this morning?- several other players and I got pulled up for a friendly little talk with one of the new GMs. While at it, I had a couple of ideas. So I need to do a bit of research so I can write everything down properly and show it to them. Busy busy! But it will give me a chance to indulge in creative writing instead of yet more reports.

Weapon of Choice for School Work?

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled River Through The Moon. When I made this, I was originally trying to aim for a translucent pink band through the blue-white. It didn't quite occur that way, of course- But it did show just enough that one could see what was supposed to be there.

Yesterday, I spoke of an assignment that I was not quite sure how I was to approach. I still am not sure, but I finally managed to locate the program that I need to do it. The school talked about the Microsoft equivalent thereof; However, I use the Open Office suite for my document needs- which fortunately is compatible with Microsoft programs so other people can read them. That is about half the battle, so I can now approach the item with something other than abject terror!

Wish me luck, Gentle Readers!

More Mix-ups

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Flower. I was thinking to try a floodfill with a considerably more vivid pink, but that didn't come out well against the background. However, I did get just enough of a rosy tint to define the forms that give the picture its name.

It seems that my business communications instructor isn't the only one who is having trouble with the syllabus and the assignment area; Yesterday, a number of my fellow students commented on a similar mix-up with the algebra site. I thought about trying to get that second assignment that the site said was due- But my brain protested the notion- Loudly. So I will simply take care of it today while thinking about how to approach my last assignment for the week. I'm not looking forward to that! I keep getting the feeling that important pieces of data are missing from the problems, for one thing. I guess I'll have to invoke the power of the Great Yellow Pad for that!

Was Shakespeare a Mathematician?

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Sunglow. Those of you who have followed me for a while will probably recognize the technique: I put a sunburst in the background, then added the foreground object. I wasn't sure how well that indigo would work with the shining yellow, but there was just enough to offer a definition without really calling attention to itself.

Last night, I found myself talking about how to see if mathematical equations really have solutions or not. I was just a bit surprised at how eloquent I could get on the subject, even though I had to read and think for a while. It does help that I thought to use examples! With that out of the way, I'll have to handle the rest of my homework. One of those pieces is going to be rather long- which I am not thrilled about. But I do consider it an appropriate test, so I won't complain much!

News from the School Front

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Lacing Over Lime. I really was not sure how that shade of blue would look against the green, but the blue did break the green up nicely so it wouldn't be too bright.

My poor business communications professor is just not having any luck with his site at all! He finally got one item taken care of so we could post our assignments, and now the site and the syllabus are in a very large disagreement over when at least one assignment is due this week! It isn't going to effect me; I finished it during the weekend and so was able to turn it right on in. But some of the other students are understandably panicked. Still, I shall take it as a warning to not indulge in procrastination! In the case of my end-of-term project, I about have to wait at least one more week due to the nature of one assignment that is necessary for assembling the material. But I have attended other items associated with the project, so I really am ahead just a bit there.

I did get a nice fuzzy feeling from my algebra instructor; When I read his commentary on how I performed last week, I was surprised to find out that my posts had value in keeping the discussion rolling. I was very tempted to perform a faint-thud! So, with that in mind, I'll have to open the texts and read some more today and tomorrow- and as usual, take a lot of notes.

The Course of the Courses...

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is Dancing Web. Usually when I add a line-based object to my pictures, I draw from the bottom up. When I made this last night, I deliberately drew from the top down instead- And THEN added a couple more lines leading up instead of down. The thing is that the lines are supposed to be yellow- However, the layer filter caused the colors to interact just a little strangely. Still, I did like the results.

I managed to get some of my homework done last night- But I may have to redo some of it. While my answers were true and correct, they may not have been quite specific enough to the question. One advantage to good word-processor programs is that one can erase items without worrying about smudge marks being left behind! I'll take care of that later, then look at the algebra stuff again. I think I've managed to pull about even to where I should be for the course work; Now I need to work on pulling ahead.

Communications And Algebra

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Pentagons. I usually don't use the outline tool with my images because it tends to wash out most of the color, but that didn't happen this time- which I was happy to see.

I managed to take notes on the majority of next week's reading for my business communication class last night. Now, I have to finish with the rest and see what I can do about my assignments. I'm still shuddering over the algebra stuff I plowed through, so I didn't even crack open that text yesterday. But I should be good to go there tonight, too! There are a few terms I'm trying to figure out with the communication class; I won't be able to handle my end-of-term projects without them. Hopefully that won't take TOO long.

Assignments?

Good morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Focusing. As usual, some of the effects weren't really intended; I really meant the yellow within the two circles to be a bit stronger, but I didn't want it quite as strong as the hard-light filter in the layer tool would have made it. Still, it made a nice little band. Also, I remembered some time ago that I had found a way to make colored bands run to the center of an image, quite by accident. I had been searching ever since then for a way to do it on purpose. As you can see, I finally have met with success.

I sure cut it close yesterday with my algebra assignment! But I did get it done on time, whatever the site might say. Most of the problem I had yesterday was figuring out how some of the tools worked. I finally got a handle on that about halfway through the work sheet, so the next assignment won't be so difficult. I'll have to take a few more notes than I did too. There is good news; I did manage to get a large fraction of my text read, so it's not going to look like a humongous monster from here on out, like I did last week.

Today, I'll have to set up a folder especially for my end-of-term project for business communications; While I have taken similar courses before, I'm not really sanguine about my chances of getting everything done right without it. I'll also have to make sure to set up my resource-listing document; That has been remarkably useful in getting my items organized, rather than waiting until the last instant to wrestle with it.

Never a dull moment!

Algebra?

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Fire in a Green Gem. I had to use a few layers and a lot of image rotation to get this, along with a judicious touch of the Magic Wand, but somehow the idea of an emerald with a flame in it is appealing. I should see if I can get something like that with a diamond.

Well- yesterday afternoon I tried to watch a few of the lectures with the algebra class. I honestly couldn't stomach it for very long; Most of the lectures were intended for young, inexperienced people, not for someone like myself who doesn't really enjoy being talked down to. Fortunately, I do have the texts, and a couple of the lecturers did seem aware that their lectures were intended for working adults instead of high-school students. Besides, there is only so much that can be done with math, and to be fair, a lot of my classmates are young people who found themselves with families before they really solidly found their feet. I do have a few concerns; I do have some of the Adobe software, which seems to be required for a number of the assignments. But I may need more. I'll try to go back through those especial texts again today, and see what I can do.

Wish me luck!

School Days...

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is Green Tree. I started out with a number of flood fills, but it really called nothing to mind for me except a number of very large blobs, so I had to do something to tie it together. The green fore-image was just the thing to give it the needed punch.

I can breathe a sigh of relief now. You'll remember that yesterday I was concerned about whether or not I'll be able to turn in an assignment that was due. Apparently the professor did forget to 'flip a few switches', so to speak. It's all good now, though. I even managed to plow my way through a couple of humongous chapters of Algebra, so now all I need to do is finish turning stuff in. I'll want to get a start on next week too, if this week is any indication. I thought I was going to go cross-eyed for a while, but I did choose a few problems to solve, so I know I can handle it.

I also need to take another look at the business communications class. I know I have one more item due for the week there, along with making a start on my end-of-term project. Nine weeks is not really that long, after all.

Worries about the School

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Crown Jewel, and I think you can see why. Originally, the center was a black field- But I decided that that was just a shade too much darkness, and somehow made the red object that would fit in there instead. I am a lot happier with those results!

I am getting a little worried about one of my professors. There is a section of the college site that he has to set up so us students can turn homework in, but he hasn't done it- and the first assignment is due today. In his introduction, he mentioned being a cancer survivor, and having various other health problems- but he also mentioned how he and his wife have been incredibly busy with a number of researches. So I am wondering if he has had a flare-up, or if he has somehow overlooked that most especial section of the site in the midst of the rest of his work. I may call my academic counselor later on today and see if she can think of anything. I'm not the only one who is concerned; My classmates are asking questions too.

A Novel On Math?

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

You may remember yesterday's image, Starting. This is the completed work. It didn't do exactly as I thought it would, but I think I've figured out why. I'll put that theory to the test later on today.

Boy am I glad I started looking at the algebra text! Most of the material is, after all, old knowledge. But when there are some 80 pages in one chapter, it would be far too easy to miss something. I'll have to finish that later on today too; It was late when I started reading it last night, and while I tend to do my best studying then there is a limit to how long I will actually absorb the stuff. As it was, without my yellow pad, I might have missed far more. I did need to refresh my memory of a few terms as it was. Fortunately, perhaps, I'll be sharing some stuff so it will stick better, for lack of a better term.

New Courses

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image, titled Starting, is a work in progress rather than a completed picture. I began it yesterday, but didn't get to finish it before my husband and I left for the rest of the day. It has been a while since I used a black background, rather than transparent or white. So now is a good time to come back and see what I can make happen.

It took some doing, but I finally have a handle on the new arrangement of the school's web site. I still can't say I like it much, but it does give advertising space to companies that the students might want to know about- and that, incidentally, just might lower the cost of schooling for people like myself. If it does, then I'm all for it!

I also got the new syllabuses for my courses- though I didn't get to print off the second one because my husband needed his sleep, and the printer is loud! Once before, I tried using it as he was drifting off, and he jumped like a scalded cat. I won't be doing that again!

I ought to open up my bio that I made for the courses and see what needs to be altered, but I'll do that after I finish my chores for the day. Otherwise, I won't be able to concentrate at all.

Random Meanderings on School and Stuff

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Daylily. While it doesn't look exactly like the flower (so what's new?), it did put me in mind of a few daylilies I have seen with beautiful red petals with bright yellow center veins leading to the tips- and a few flowers that had those colors reversed.

I'll be going out for a picnic with my parents later on today to celebrate the successful completion of the move. While it was a huge amount of work, it was not quite as bad as the last move; For one thing, I was not half-ill from red clay dust. For another, there was not quite as much stuff to move, for which I am grateful.

It's relatively cool outside right now, but it is awfully humid. I'm not betting on the temperatures staying down, though; They haven't for a while, though sometimes they stay a little closer to down than others.

I am optimistic about school, though not really happy about how the school site has changed yet again. I've already filled up pages of notes from one of my text books, and am expecting to get my syllabuses later on today. I suspect that the change in the web site is because of my major, though, rather than because of the school itself- if that makes any sense. A number of ads have started appearing from businesses, and my chosen major is Green and Sustainable Enterprise. I think I'll take a closer look at those ads later on; They appear to be legitimate, unlike 99.9% of the spam I get.

Storms and Studies

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is Luminous Bubble. I made it a couple of weeks ago while trying to deliberately recapture a few old effects. As per usual, it didn't quite work as planned- But then, there really wasn't a plan either!

We did have a storm through here again last night- But it was more rain than anything else, from a small storm cell that was part of a straggly string from the west. The cats, at least, were pleased; They don't like storms, and will hide under the bed when those come through. As for me, I was just as glad to have something that would break the heat; I was wearing a frozen towel around my neck much of the day as it was. I can imagine how it would have been for someone who didn't know how to do that.

Boy am I glad I started taking notes! While I saw little that I hadn't seen before, I did have to clarify a few of the business communications concepts! I can think of a few corporate heads that need to take this, and the other business courses I've taken up to date; Just about every single action the persons in question take when it comes to their businesses is counter to the laws of basic common sense even, let alone to what is really needed to build a strong business and maintain employee morale. Not that it will be my business for very long, if I have my say...

Stormy day coming?

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Echoes. I made this yesterday while experimenting with a couple of filters. I didn't like what had been done to the 'moon' at first, but the overlay in the next layer really changed that and wiped out much of what I didn't like before.

We had another storm through here last night- One that had the power flickering, though it stopped short of going out altogether. Still, the power fluctuations did a number on our air conditioner, which hasn't been fully functional in a while. So I decided to get my on-line stuff done as quickly as I could in case everything should go out today, including the note-taking. I should take a look at the math text too; I had to download a number of huge files for that, and I won't be able to treat it like I do normal texts because of the sheer size. Wish me luck!

Storms

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is Green-Laced Gem. I made this a few nights ago as I was working on embedding more objects inside a bubble-light effect. It just seemed to me that I had a lot of space that wasn't being used, so I added the green lacing to it. Thus, the name.

I don't have a whole lot to say about school today, other than while my Associate's degree will be done in December, I'll be rolling on over into a Bachelor's starting in January. I think I'll be ready for a break, much as I would like everything to be done and over with. Still, considering the sheer quantity of material I have covered, I have done rather well!

Last night, we had a storm through here. I'm not really surprised, and I expect more in a couple of days, when that string from the west hits us. My friend in the mid-west says that her storms tend to be strong. That leads me to wonder why they are comparatively tame by the time they arrive where I am- Not that I object! And not that I wish to jinx myself either, considering the havoc that Hurricane Isabelle, and even Rita and Katrina wrecked through here!

School and stuff

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Double-Helix. The layers in the main shape on the image were a bit of a surprise, but I managed to use them to good effect. I was looking for my rainbow again while making this. While I didn't get that exactly, I did get stained glass.

I finished reading a chapter of one of my new texts last night, then opened a form thinking to start filling that in. I promptly changed my mind; I'll want to reread that item, then see if there are any other materials I can access for note-taking purposes. Some course materials aren't really opened up until the class starts. I suppose it is to prevent plagiarism, but that doesn't mean I like it. I'll have to review my APA formatting manual too; I swear there is an incredible amount of nit-picking involved!

I did take a look at the rest of my scheduled classes too. Some of them look suspiciously like courses I was opted out of. Others don't; They just look scary. Well, that can't be allowed to get in my way either, so there!

The Future...

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is titled Fire To The Sky. Some time ago, I made another one I titled Fire In The Sky, so it was very important to differentiate between the two. I used a radial flood-fill for the background, then put the green in front using another layer; There was no way the colors would have taken properly otherwise.

Last night, I started reading the text for one of my up-coming courses. I could swear that it is almost identical to a course I had taken a couple of blocks ago, if only a little more detailed! Still, I think I had better keep on reading; There were a few items with that other course that I never did get really comfortable with. Besides, when I was looking at some of the assignments, I found a mention of a power-point presentation that would be due eventually. If that's the case, the more I know now the better!

And I'm Done!

Good Afternoon, Gentle Readers!
Today's image is titled A Point Made- and I think you can see why! I was idly contemplating trying to put a teardrop in a pentagon, but decided against it for this image. I may do so for the next.

I mentioned removing Solitaire from my list of readily-accessible games so I wouldn't waste so much of the time I need for school playing that instead. I've been finding that it's a very hard addiction to break. Slowly but surely, though, I'm breaking it; I'm not trying to mouse over to that tab as much as I did yesterday.

I got my last assignment done for Economics last night, so now I can pay more attention to my next courses. I may have to rewrite part of it; I went well over the word count for it. Still, it's a nice little essay if I do say so myself! This morning as I was tending my morning chores, I very firmly put my old study materials in a pile away from what I need for the new ones. I won't be throwing them out; They might be useful for future assignments, especially in my business communication course.

Wish me luck, Gentle Readers!

Priorities

Good Morning, Gentle Readers!

Today's image is Floating Light. As you can see, I managed to split my 'spotlight' up in a way that doesn't really scream. I even managed to find a bit of my rainbow- though I will have to try again with broader stripes so if it's there it will be more readily visible.

I got my paper done last night- Finally! I wasn't sure I would be able to locate all the words to meet the count, at least without some needless padding. But I managed it, and set up a document to start working on my capstone Discussion Question item. After that, I can start with the new course material and maybe even fill out a few forms- Though I probably ought to hold off on that until I know more about my instructors' preferences. I also need to make up a list of priorities to meet; That way I will work toward them instead of just more or less drift along. One thing I need to do is find out more about my competition in the fields I hope to get into. I tried looking up a few people whose work I had admired, but their sites are defunct- which I am not pleased about at all. Still, that's the breaks. Perhaps I can find someone else. Or perhaps not; My style seems to be largely my own.

Time for me to invoke the power of the Yellow Pad!
